GJPS Welcomes New Chief Operating Officer

Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools is excited and proud to welcome Kevin Klingler as the District’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). His first day in the District will be May 13.

Klingler has served in K-12 operations for 10 years. As part of his role as the Operations Project Manager in Dublin City Schools, Klingler served as the primary lead for long-range facility planning, building assessments, estimating, asset management and capital forecasting, while also assisting the COO in planning for District growth with purchases and sales of real estate and fixed assets.

Klingler has recently been a lead in opening two elementary schools, a middle school, and a preschool, aiding to guide the construction to completion. Since 2018, he has played a role in $37 million in permanent improvement projects and contract bidding.

Previous to serving as the Operations Project Manager, Klingler worked his way through the operations department, holding the positions of Property Services Coordinator, Operations Supervisor, Preventative Maintenance Supervisor and District Security Maintenance throughout his tenure with Dublin City Schools. Before getting his start in school district operations, Klingler worked as a Field Service Engineer working on heating and automation equipment in North America and a Field Service Representative dealing with the installation and maintenance of proprietary monitoring equipment.

Klingler studied at DeVry Institute of Technology and is a certified locksmith, while also holding certificates in AutoCAD Fundamentals and Construction Procurement for Public Entities in Ohio.

Klingler will join the District this month and take over for Cliff Hetzel, who is transitioning to become the District’s Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer this summer.
